Pilates at Impact has evolved over 20 years (our first classes started in 2003) and some of our clients have been exercising with us from day 1.

Our Physiotherapists and Sport Rehabilitators have additional post graduate training in Pilates, some with over 20 years teaching experience.  You will be benefitting from their specialised knowledge of injury prevention, management, rehabilitation and exercise therapy.

This focused class gives you chance to learn how pilates can help you, practicing alongside others for support. Using the power of specific weight bearing exercises, breathing and pelvic floor control.

Pilates uses controlled movements to strengthen muscles.  Our sessions are adapted to individual needs and we can  accommodate any physical limitations. Suitable for all ages and abilities, it benefits everyone from beginners with chronic back pain to elite athletes seeking a competitive edge.

Flexible Options

Join small group or individual sessions. (We also offer classes via Zoom for added convenience.) Sign up to a class with the option of swapping your session if you can't attend one week.

Experienced Instruction

Small classes (max of 6) ensure personalised guidance from experienced physiotherapists and sport rehabilitators.

Specialist Equipment

Our Long Eaton studio features Pilates-specific equipment to enhance your practice and results. Pilates isn't just about the reformer, you can benefit from the trapeze, core aign, ladder barrel and combo chair options too.

Joining as a New Student

For new participants, please call 0115 9721319 to register your interest. You can book onto our PAYG class or to discuss the most suitable session for you. If you are not sure, we can arrange a 1:1 session which will give us the opportunity to assess you and place you in the right class level. We recommend that you book a 1:1 session if you have had any specific injury that concerns you which may affect your practice. Keep an eye out for our taster courses.

  1. Class feeder for beginners

    This class is for beginners who are looking to join into one of the existing classes due to convenience of times available.

  2. Level 1

    Conditioning your body in our Pilates studio with both mat work and equipment based exercise. This class is suitable for beginners or those who haven’t exercised for a while. If you have no previous experience we recommend you have a 1:1 assessment first.

  3. Level 2

    A progression of both Pilates mat work and equipment, to increase the level you are working at.

  4. Level 3

    Challenge your co-ordination and body control and you might work up a sweat!

  5. Matwork

     If you prefer to exercise without the use of large pieces of equipment then this is the class for you. We have classes for both relative beginners and those who have more experience.

  6. PAYG

    A pay as you go class for those who can’t commit to regular practice or just want to try it out with the teaching of an experienced physiotherapist. 

  7. Pilates for Menopause

  8. Special sessions

    These classes and courses run periodically where we focus on a concept. Examples include "snowlates" to prepare for your trip to the slopes, "Pilates for Runners", "Hip Health" and our Men's Health and Menopause themes.

Pilates class schedule

Classes are run in terms of either 6 weeks or 12 weeks. Please note you need to book ahead and full payment for the course must be received prior to the beginning of the course. Please note that all courses will run dependent on numbers. Our PAYG option on a Tuesday afternoon is an option for those who can’t commit to a term.

Meet your instructors

All of our instructors are Physiotherapists or Sport Rehabilitators, who are trained at a post graduate level in Pilates to assess and treat movement patterns.

These may be your golf swing, your tennis backhand, your running or cycling style through to how you climb the stairs or simply help you understand why you always feel tension through your neck and shoulder muscles.

  • How do I book on a class?

    For new Pilates students, please call 0115 9721319 and we will recommend the most suitable course for you.

    You may book an initial 1:1 session if you’re still unsure as to which class you should join or if  you have had any type of injury.

  • How many students are in each class?

    Each class has a maximum of 6 students

  • Can you run smaller class sizes?

    Yes we can!

    If you have some friends or colleagues who would also be interested in  attending a smaller session, then please get in touch. These sessions can be arranged as a one-off or regular basis e.g. post-natal ladies / work colleagues etc. at a time to suit you

    By holding smaller classes, we can provide an increased individual assessment; closer supervision and correction:

    1:1 session – £45
    1:2 session – £30
    1:3 session – £20

  • What do I need to bring?

    There are no specific requirements to participate, mats and other equipment are provided. You will, however, need to wear loose fitting clothes and it is advisable not to eat a big meal 2 hours before the class starting.

  • What equipment does your studio have?

    Our studio is equipped with Reformer, Trapeze, Core Align, Combo Chair, Ladder Barrel, Baby Arc, Orbit, Foam Rollers, Magic Circles and a multitude of soft and weighted balls.

  • How do I pay for each class?

    Full payment  must be received prior to the beginning of the course term.

  • Can I get a refund if I no longer want to attend?

    Once the course has started, no refunds are possible however we will do our best to accommodate you in alternative classes.

    If you are unsure whether a class is suitable for you, we’d recommend you speak to one of our instructors, or even better, arrange a 1:1 session to check the class is suitable for you.

  • Where are the classes?

    The classes are held at our Long Eaton Clinic.
