What to expect

What your sessions will include

Your first session is an initial consultation. Toby will take the time to understand your goals, your training history and any injuries or conditions, and assess your movement and current physical capacity before building your programme.

  • Initial consultation and assessment

A full discussion of your goals plus an assessment of your movement, strength and current capacity, so your programme starts in the right place.

  • A programme built around you

Individualised exercise selection, loading and progression, matched to your goals, your ability and the equipment you have access to.

  • Coaching on technique

Hands-on coaching and feedback on every movement, so you train safely, effectively and with confidence.

  • Progression and review

Your programme is reviewed and progressed as you get stronger, so you keep moving towards your goal rather than standing still.

Strength & Conditioning FAQs

  • What should I wear or bring?

Comfortable clothing you can move in, trainers, and a water bottle.

  • Do I need any gym experience to start?

No. Sessions are built entirely around your starting point, so they suit complete beginners as well as experienced trainers. Toby will coach you through every movement.

  • What happens in the first session?

Your first session is an initial consultation. Toby will discuss your goals, training history and any injuries or conditions, then assess your movement and current physical capacity before building your programme.

  • What does it cost?

  • How long is a session?

    Sessions are approximately 60 minutes.

  • Can I do this if I am injured or have an ongoing condition?

Yes. Toby is a Graduate Sport Rehabilitator, so exercises are selected and adapted around injuries and conditions. If you would benefit from a physiotherapy assessment first, we will tell you.

  • Is this the same as personal training?

There is overlap, but our sessions come from a sport rehabilitation background. That means a stronger focus on assessment, movement quality and working safely around injury, alongside building strength.

  • I have just finished physio. Is this a good next step?

It often is. Strength and conditioning bridges the gap between finishing rehabilitation and returning to full training or sport, helping you build capacity and confidence.

  • Can I train for a specific sport or event?

Yes. Your programme can be built around the physical demands of your sport, or around an event you are training for.
