Pilates

Pilates classes are based at our Long Eaton clinic

We are back in the studio, but still offer a couple of classes each week by zoom for those who find this more convenient. Sessions are available within our small classes or on an individual basis.

Pilates aims to develop your body awareness, integrating your mind and body.  We offer only small groups (6 clients) to ensure individual attention with highly experienced instructors; all Physiotherapists and Graduate Sport Rehabilitators with additional post graduate training in Pilates.

Our studio in Long Eaton is equipped with Pilates specific equipment including a Trapeze table, Reformer, Core Align, Combo Chair, Ladder Barrel, Baby Arc, Orbit, Foam Rollers, Magic Circles and a multitude of soft and weighted balls.

We also offer matwork classes in Long Eaton and online, sometimes using the small equipment items; soft large and small balls, weighted balls, magic circles, rollers, resistance bands etc.

Pilates 1:1

1:1 Pilates sessions allow specific exercise programmes to be developed for both in the studio and at home to maximise the benefit from Pilates. As your body changes and develops, so does the exercise programme helping you to strive to achieve and surpass your goals.

Safe for everyone

Pilates works the muscles through controlled movement and can be adapted to challenge any body whilst accomodating potential physical limitations. Therefore, Pilates is suitable for all, at any age, from the first-time exerciser with chronic back pain to top athletes looking for that sporting edge.

Studio Equipment

Our studio is equiped with Pilates specific equipment including a Trapeze table, Reformer, Core Align, Combo Chair, Ladder Barrel, Baby Arc, Orbit, Foam Rollers, Magic Circles and a multitude of soft and weighted balls.

We have recently added 8 x oov’s to our kit. The Oov helps to activate core stabilizing muscles while also gently extending the spine. From stretching to core strengthening to rehabilitation, or for relaxation, the Oov offers significant benefits for spinal health.

Pilates Reviews

impact physio

My husband and myself have attended Pilates classes at Impact Physiotherapy in Long Eaton for well over 10 years. We highly recommend the classes run by their physiotherapists (small groups and individual attention when it’s necessary to adjust exercises because of physical injury etc). When we suffered from back and knee problems respectively, we had no hesitation in contacting Impact physiotherapists for private treatment. We were both very satisfied with the outcome: following a first meeting for medical assessment, the sessions helped us get better, offering professional treatment, plenty of advice and a programme of exercises to do at home. Although sessions are quite pricey, you don’t have to wait for an appointment for very long and staff don’t try to book you in for more sessions than necessary. We liked their very active approach of getting patients involved in their own recovery.

The staff at Long Eaton are excellent, everyone so professional and friendly. I have benefited so much from the Pilates and Physiotherapy.

SM

Friendly and experienced staff always happy to tailor exercise and Pilates lessons to your needs and abilities. Since attending my mobility and core strength have improved, not to mention the classes are lots of fun.

Kevin Cardall

As I’ve aged I’ve found that I’ve got increasingly stiff and my joints and mobility have significantly reduced. To counteract these conditions I have been thinking about taking up Pilates and Yoga again, I used to attend classes but dropped out several years ago due to a change in my circumstances. I found Impact Physio through a recommendation from a friend and decided to join. I have now been attending both Pilates and Yoga classes since September this year and have seen a big difference in how I feel physically. The classes are not only good for me but I find them hugely enjoyable, I get a real “”buzz”” out of the exercises. In addition to the feel good factor generated by the exercises, a big plus about going to Impact Physio is that the staff are friendly and approachable. This makes the classes a very good experience, one I would recommend.
