Maya Wigley

Physiotherapist & Strength & Conditioning Instructor
Based at Long Eaton

A Chartered, HCPC-registered Physiotherapist, Maya has worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist since 2019 and enjoys supporting a wide range of clients. Her approach is always tailored to the individual, whether the goal is living with less pain, managing a chronic condition, improving day-to-day function, enhancing fitness, changing lifestyle habits, or returning to high-level sport.

Patients regularly describe Maya as thorough, kind and highly skilled. She creates personalised rehabilitation plans designed to deliver long-term benefit, with a focus on restoring pain-free function, preventing injury and supporting the management of persistent conditions. Treatment may combine manual therapy, medical acupuncture and massage to help reduce pain in the short term, alongside exercise therapy to build lasting strength and resilience. As a Level 2 qualified fitness instructor, she brings an added layer of confidence and clarity to exercise prescription and progression.

Maya teaches physiotherapy-led Pilates using the APPI method. These exercises are excellent for improving core strength, flexibility and body awareness, and are particularly valuable in the early stages of rehabilitation, helping to lay a strong foundation that supports pain reduction, improved function and protection from re-injury.

While Maya is confident managing a wide range of presentations, she has a particular passion for pelvic health, post-trauma rehabilitation, tendinopathy management, supporting post-surgical patients back to full function, and guiding sportspeople safely back to performance. She also offers Strength and Conditioning classes, providing a different training approach with the same aim: helping people achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.

Outside of clinic, Maya enjoys playing field hockey for a local club, strength training in the gym, and spending time with friends and family. She also loves travelling, cooking and fashion. With Maya, you’re in experienced hands and can expect a holistic, tailored approach to physiotherapy care.
