Louise Leeming

Louise qualified in 1991 and built a great base of knowledge working in the NHS for 10 years covering a wide spectrum of areas from A and E, to mental health, respiratory and paediatrics.

Louise then specialised as a senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist, including work in orthopaedics, hand clinic , fracture clinic, and the spinal unit at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.

Louise progressed to private practice in 2003 at Impact Physiotherapy and sports Injury Clinic. Here she discovered Pilates, and went on to train with Polestar Pilates as a comprehensive Clinical Pilates instructor in 2004. Her passion for Pilates continues, and Louise integrates Pilates into the Physiotherapy rehabilitation of clients to achieve great results.

Continued learning helps her to provide up to date treatment to clients, and Louise certified as a Balanced Body Core Align Instructor in 2015. “The Core-Align allows me to use Pilates principles along with physio skills in a functional standing environment, perfect for just improving posture, to fine tuning performance for athletes and runners. “

She continues to learn from world renowned Pilates teachers to try to offer the best to her clients. Louise has trained with Portia Page, Tom Mccook, Elizabeth Larkham, Troy Mccarty and Anne Toran.

As well as more training with Balanced Body this year, she attended workshops in Germany with Lolita San Miguel -( trained by Joseph Pilates himself), Kathy Corey and Alan Herdman.

Louise is the lead Pilates Instructor at Impact Physiotherapy, and combines Physiotherapy treatments, 1:1 Physio-Pilates as well as leading a number of studio classes a week, along with the ante and post natal Pilates classes, and sport specific classes for athletes, most recently for the Nottinghamshire County Cricket fast bowlers.

Reviews for Louise

I attend pilates with Louise and yoga class with Mariangela to improve my flexibility and mobility. I have to say i enjoy the classes hugely and spent a lot of time laughing. I cannot thank those two ladies enough for what they’ve done for me.

Having long term back pain is not easy and same goes for three discectomies. Initially my physiotherapist was chosen for me by a spinal surgeon and I went with his choice but after meeting Louise and going through her 1:1 sessions I ended up attending the Long Eaton clinic for the last six years.

Louise has an impressive knowledge base and will always find a way to keep you mobile even when you feel you won’t ever be able to move normal . During the years we worked together on my back she attended many courses and conferences and her skills make it so that , somehow, we still rarely repeat an exercise and I am sure there are many more to discover. She worked her “magic” on me so many times that I now only trust her with my recovery from yet another discectomy.

Due to her skills I managed to lead a normal life, I was able to keep my job which can be quite strenuous , I travelled long distances by plane or car , basically kept active.

My admiration for Louise is endless. Not only she is an excellent physiotherapist and Pillates instructor, but she is also a wonderful human being ,who in this day and age has maintained empathy and compassion for the suffering of those around her.

I wouldn’t want to miss Laura and Sandy and the whole reception team from this review . Thank you for your help and support over the years ladies!

It is much appreciated.

My experience at this clinic was excellent.

My doctor referred me for physio for a very long standing back problem. Louise worked with me and the problem has gone!

I am very grateful to Louise and this clinic, it has been a life changing experience.

My daughter was referred by her GP and we had 2 appointments with Louise. She was brilliant and really good with my 8 year old daughter. Both appointments were thorough and my daughter was shown lots of different exercises to do at home with explanations of how they would help her. We also had emails showing the exercises in videos as well. The appointments were during ‘covid times’ as well and we felt very safe.

I was referred by my GP with back pain. All sessions were carried out via zoom which worked exceptionally well and I was really grateful to Louise who was my physiotherapist. Her kindness and help were excellent and I would thoroughly recommend Impact Physiotherapy to anyone.

With many thanks.

I Initially had face to face physiotherapy after a GP referral at Park farm medical centre with Jo, I was very pleased with the treatment I received from Jo, things slowly started to improve for me. However the situation changed due to the COVID-19 government guidelines restricting face to face contact.

I then received ‘Zoom’ consultations with Louise Leeming, I have to say these consultations worked very well. Louise was able to assess my problems over Zoom and offer excellent advice and treatment plans for me. I felt this was very person centred. I love the exercise plans that Louise emailed to me, I am able to refer back to the plan to make sure I’m doing the exercises correctly. I feel moving forward Zoom would be an efficient and effective way of assessment and treatment of patients, in between those face to face contacts. Thank you Louise and Jo for providing excellent knowledge, care and treatment.

Louise has resolved a long standing hip issue and guided me through rehabilitation from abdominal surgery. Her combined expertise with physio and pilates is highly effective, delivered with consummate professionalism and care for the patient. She has also been a great help analysing movement patterns of my sport (golf) to help address any physical weaknesses/imbalances. Can’t recommend Impact highly enough. Thanks Louise!

Having a partial tear on my rotator cuff and being unable to lift my arm over my head for several months. I felt the need for expert intervention.

I contacted Impact Physiotheraphy via my healthcare provider and delighted to say that after 3 months of physio (over c6 sessions) I have full mobility.

Louise was exceptional at advising me that motion was a critical part of recovery – pushing each session to expand my range of motion and comprehension of exercises.

I am very happy to refer Impact and Louise for a service very well performed and received.

Thanks

The service we received from Louise was excellent. Her help and advice helped my son recover from his leg injury. She returned our calls to offer professional advice and moved his appointment forward to see him so she could remind him about the risks of returning to sport too soon. Many thanks, Louise – he is now fit and well, and playing football again!

Many thanks to Louise for my recent treatment session. I have had a frustrating lower back pain for a couple of weeks. Her assessment was thorough, friendly and professional and just in the one session she made a world of difference. I feel inspired and confident to carry out the exercises she has suggested. I would not hesitate to recommend Impact Physio – the whole process is smooth, easy and friendly and, most importantly, the results are great.

I highly, highly recommend Impact Physio! Reception staff, Physios’ and all staff so friendly, welcoming and professional. I saw Louise for a number of weeks, with a very painful shoulder. Louise REALLY knows her stuff, but above all has such a passion for her work. She maintains her evidence based knowledge (which clearly shows in her approach to treating her patients) and she treated me with dignity. I’m so chuffed I now know about Impact Physio. I will use their services again without hesitation. Thank you x

After finally managing to get an appointment to see my doctor I was told that I should see a Physiotherapist. I chose Impact as it was local, and I had heard good things from people I knew who had received treatment from yourselves. Right from my initial treatment commencement, I can confirm that I was uplifted from the impression I received on my condition from the doctor. Each appointment with Louise was a step forward in my wellbeing. Her advice and treatment helped me get better mobility. I would not hesitate in recommending Impact to anyone who may consider seeing a Physiotherapist to improve mobility issues. Thanks again to Louise.

I had been in pain for many months when I was referred to Louise by my Doctor. I was given various treatment and exercises to do and I could always tell the difference after I had attended the clinic. Louise kindly emailed the exercises to me. The advice she gave me was invaluable as I soon realised it was lifestyle. My problem hasn’t totally gone away but I do know now how to stretch my muscles to reduce pain and discomfort. If the problem and pain returned and made life difficult for me I wouldn’t hesitate going back to Impact privately for treatment. Thank you for all your help.

I had an appointment with Louise as have been having problems with my hips for some years and I couldn’t get in to see my doctor. Louise was excellent. Very professional, explained everything clearly and very thorough. There was nothing else she could do for me as it is a new hip I need so instead of me spending more money she sent me instructions for stretches that will hopefully help. I would definitely go back if I have any other problems.
