“I enjoy a challenge, especially treating someone whose problems have proved hard to solve elsewhere. No one person or condition presented is ever the same, everyone is an individual and so I endeavour to tailor my treatments to the needs of each individual I see.”
Louise Leeming
Louise qualified in 1991 and worked in the NHS for 10 years before a break for the arrival of her two boys. She then moved into private practice and trained in Pilates. She now runs regular Pilates classes at Impact Physiotherapy.
“After feeling the benefit of Pilates for myself and the improvement it made in my own body after having children, I am so excited to be able to pass this knowledge on to women through “Fit Back and Bumps
The programme applies Pilates techniques specific to your changing body both before and after childbirth. So many women have later problems with incontinence and back pain following pregnancy and childbirth due to muscle weakness. To be able to apply my Pilates experience, along with my Physiotherapy knowledge to educate women to prevent this is fantastic!”

“I like to temper up-to-date research findings with years of hands-on experience and a dose of good sense! I feel one of the most beneficial things I do is to explain a person’s condition to them in clear simple terms, and advise them how to help themselves.”

Joanne Keegan
Joanne has been a qualified physiotherapist since 1994, completing varied rotations at the Nottingham City Hospital before specialising in orthopaedics and rehabilitation. She has also completed the British Wheel of Yoga year long foundation course with a very experienced yoga teacher and currently runs our Yoga Classes at Long Eaton.
I have been a qualified physiotherapist since 1994, completing varied rotations at the Nottingham City Hospital before specialising in orthopaedics and rehabilitation. After travelling and working in Australia I have been involved in sports medicine for the past 6 years and through my own playing career developed a special interest in hockey. I have been fortunate enough to work with 2 hockey clubs who have competed in European Championships (indoor and outdoor.) I am the lead therapist for the Men and Women's Hockey Clubs at Loughborough University, providing ongoing treatment throughout the National League season and screening players at the start of the season to identify any problems that may lead to injury. I also work with a range of different sports and most recently worked with three track and field athletes who attended last year's World Championships. As well as elite level athletes, I work with clients from all walks of life, helping them to achieve their particular goals through assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and appropriate advice.
I use a wide variety of treatment modalities- joint and soft tissue mobilisation, myofascial release and acupuncture.
I first experienced yoga some ten years ago at my local gym- I wanted to find something to help me stretch my aching limbs from my hockey playing and various other sports! Whilst it did that very successfully I began to find that yoga had so much more to offer than just a good stretch. It can be a fantastic way of unwinding and de-stressing and can provide some amazing tools to help you cope with life's ups and downs.
I have completed the British Wheel of Yoga year long foundation course with a very experienced yoga teacher which allowed me to gain further depth and understanding of yoga and its fascinating practices. It has inspired me to want to share these ... and to that end I have recently embarked on the BWY 3 year Teaching Diploma Course. Yoga and physiotherapy are so well suited to each other and I have been lucky enough to be able to integrate yoga into my clinical work. I currently teach yoga to a group of England hockey players to assist them in improving performance and flexibility.
"Whether it's improving athletic performance or simply taking some time out for you to stop and draw breath- yoga is for you."

Great service, great therapy and excellent results. I thought the advice offered by Impact Physiotherapy was comprehensive and simple. It really helped me understand what my problem was, and I was offered various methods to resolve my problem.
S Smith
I never thought I would, but I really enjoyed physiotherapy at Impact. I feel very enlightened, knowing much more about my condition, and how to improve it. I am much more mobile. The exercises I was given were sensible and achievable, if somewhat taxing, and really made a difference to my ability to cope with everyday life. This was our aim.
