I wanted to give a bit of a longer review. I saw Jo about 3 weeks ago about knee pain i'd been having. After a conversation and some diagnostics Jo was able to tell me, accurately, the inury I had and provide me loads of helpful information on treatment. I returned to see Jo today and although my knee is still painful (I have a meniscus tear which will take time to heal), lots of progress has been made and its certainly headed in the right direction. I really could not recommend Jo highly enough, she's friendly, knowledgable and has really helped me. If you're in pain or stuggling with an injuriy that won't go away – get yourself booked in you won't regret it!

The review below was prepared 7 years ago…..My views about Impact Physiotherapy haven't changed….I am still very pleased with both the Pilates classes and the physiotherapists…..almost 20 years after starting……. My husband and myself have attended Pilates classes at Impact Physiotherapy in Long Eaton for well over 10 years. We highly recommend the classes run by their physiotherapists (small groups and individual attention when it's necessary to adjust exercises because of physical injury etc). When we suffered from back and knee problems respectively, we had no hesitation in contacting Impact physiotherapists for private treatment. We were both very satisfied with the outcome: following a first meeting for medical assessment, the sessions helped us get better, offering professional treatment, plenty of advice and a programme of exercises to do at home. Although sessions are quite pricey, you don't have to wait for an appointment for very long and staff don't try to book you in for more sessions than necessary. We liked their very active approach of getting patients involved in their own recovery!

I highly recommend the Strength & Conditioning classes at Impact Long Eaton. I have suffered with Menopause aches and pains for a few years now and was beginning to struggle with moving around without moans and groans as a young 54 year old! I thought exercise was now a no go! Another menopause gift! Combined with some weight loss the Strength & Conditioning classes really helped with building my strength back up and my confidence around weights and to push myself out of my comfort zone. Our instructor Maya takes onboard any issues you may have and the session can be tailored to individual needs. There is always variety between each session and support on how to correctly perform each type of movement. Studio is always clean, tidy and welcoming with all the right equipment provided. I recently saw Julie at Derby Uni for some physio treatment and she could see immediately the difference in my body from the classes. Thank you Team Impact x

I highly recommend the Strength & Conditioning class with Maya at Impact Physio (Long Eaton). As a physiotherapist, Maya brings expert guidance to every movement, providing complete peace of mind that you are training safely. What I Loved: Physio-Led Safety: Maya offers real-time form corrections and expert coaching. Structured Sessions: The layout flows perfectly from warm-ups to technique work and core strength. Tailored for Everyone: Exercises are easily scaled for fitness levels or injury recovery. Confidence Boosting: The supportive, clinical environment eliminates any gym intimidation. It is a fantastic, welcoming class for anyone looking to build a stronger body safely. I will definitely be back!

I went to Impact with ongoing shoulder and knee pain that were hindering both gym practice and sleep. After only two sessions and some very helpful exercises (complete with videos), I was ready to be signed off. The support from Julie was warm, friendly, non-judgmental and totally encouraging from start to finish. Explanations and demonstrations were clear and gave me all I needed to know to carry out the exercises at home. Julie was very effective in helping me get back on track and I would highly recommend if considering whether it is right for you.

Impact physio was given as an option from Bupa when I completely ruptured my ACL last year. I found Sally Moore on the list as she had experience with ski injuries. After seeing a consultant who was not sympathetic at all and made me feel like a useless middle aged woman who didn't need an ACL, Sally was amazing. She carried out lots of tests to see what I could and couldn't do. She gave me some exercises to do which were useful. She really helped me get my confidence back, discussing whether surgery was necessary and fortunately for me it seems it is not! I have just returned from a week of skiing with no problems with my knee! Thank you Sally!

After 4 weeks of Pilate with Impact I feel fantastic. The lessons are a mix of hard and easier exercises… we are constantly asked if we are ok or if we can’t do the exercise to do a different one which can be more beneficial. The lessons are fun too. I had a stroke 10 years ago and struggled with balance but Pilate are definitely helping.

I had really bad hip and knee pain from a cricket injury and needed a last minute appointment ahead of a game tomorrow- I had an appointment with Krishna who efficiently covered my injury history and then onto the knee and hip issue. This was giving me really bad pain even walking short distances and he assessed and located the exact area to manipulate and release the pain very quickly. I went in limping and walked out the practice normally with no limp at all! He advised what to do after the appointment and moving forwards and I have booked in for 2 weeks time for a check up and to address other muscular issues. Incredibly professional, explained and listened so well and I am looking forward to addressing other issues moving forwards! Thank you Krishna!

Following serious surgery I wanted to get back to cycling and running. Booking a Full Body MOT with Chris Davenport at Impact Physio worked a treat. Chris took time to understand the issues I had and how they affected my fitness. He developed a personal exercise schedule, remedial exercises for my knee injury and a plan for getting back running. His 4 week follow up provided an updated exercise schedule to continue my progression. The result is that I'm back cycling and running pain free and improving week by week. Thanks Chris and Impact Physio, I'm chuffed with how it went. Long Eaton Parkrun this weekend!

I've had 'lower back' pain almost constantly for two years,it's completely impacted my life, it's affected my dancing which I love, my gym sessions, even walking, shopping, doing the house work, after seeing Chris who is totally professional, he taught me which muscle group was causing the pain, how to work with it on a daily basis, which things to avoid in the gym that were agrravating it, he's taught me exercises that I can do at home (or away) and in the gym to strengthen the msucles, I'm like a different person, no longer in pain. I can't thank Chris enough, he's completely changed my life.

  • John W.

    Patient review

As I've aged I've found that I've got increasingly stiff and my joints and mobility have significantly reduced. To counteract these conditions I have been thinking about taking up Pilates and Yoga again, I used to attend classes but dropped out several years ago due to a change in my circumstances. I found Impact Physio through a recommendation from a friend and decided to join. I have now been attending both Pilates and Yoga classes since September this year and have seen a big difference in how I feel physically. The classes are not only good for me but I find them hugely enjoyable, I get a real ""buzz"" out of the exercises. In addition to the feel good factor generated by the exercises, a big plus about going to Impact Physio is that the staff are friendly and approachable. This makes the classes a very good experience, one I would recommend.

    Patient review

I have been attending the Long Eaton branch for several years. The receptionists are always very polite and helpful. They are also extremely efficient both before an appointment with e-mail reminders and on the day of a visit. They create a calm and business like ""first impression"" of Impact Physiotherapy. I cannot rate them highly enough. I have been seen by Fiona on and off for several years. Besides being an accomplished physiotherapist, she always explains fully the treatment and clearly explains exercises for me to do between appointments and importantly makes sure that I understand before I leave that day. I have recently had massages with Amanda which I shall continue to do on a monthly basis. Again any treatment is explained in detail and she also listens to what I am saying so that she can make valued judgements on how she approaches my issues. I would thoroughly recommend the Long Eaton practice from the evidence of first hand experience.

My First experience was with Chris Davenport on referral for hip and spine problems by my GP. Two courses done and he recommended Hatha yoga to supplement his treatment and help me long term. However before I could implement it lockdown came in so it was delayed until Autumn this year. I signed (with Mariangela)not fully knowing or expecting much in the way of personal tailoring or yoga exercise to be relevant to my situation. I needn’t have worried as the class of six is like minded and Mariangela caters (and cares) for us all. Bonus is it seems to be working; thanks Mariangela. The covid care from all at LE clinic is first class and not uncomfortable allowing for windows open. Reception staff always friendly with a smile. All in all just the tonic Update following treatment again in 2023 Not the first time I’ve used this service, same location, same Physiotherapist (Chris Davenport) and yes the same receptionist’s. As before they provided me with the ( in my view) the best treatment they could given my arthritis coupled with a set treatment time scale provided by the NHS. Thanks to all the staff.

Came here for the first time a few months ago looking for help with my lower back. I had a god sit down chat with Jack and then a number of physio sessions thereafter. Jack was incredibly helpful, informative and very passionate about his work and getting me better. Jack gave me a clear timeline and a structured plan of physio which has helped me incredibly. I would highly recommend Impact Physio to anyone that needs physio and if I ever do need to go back it will be Jack I go back to see.

Having pulled a hamstring at work and being unable to walk for a few days,my wife booked me in with impact Physio.I was looking at being off work for about 2-3 months. On the day of my appointment,I was met by a pretty young lady who got me to walk away from her then back again a few times.I was then asked to lie on my back on the couch where a pair of expert hands gently massaged the delicate hamstring area.A bit of manipulation got me a bit of pain, causing me to jolt slightly, but I was expecting worse anyway.I was then asked to lie face down on the couch. My lower back was then massaged and manipulated. The whole session took probably 30 minutes. The physiotherapist was always talking to me,saying what she was going to do, and wether or not I would experience any pain or discomfort. She was very good at her job, and did it professionally.Within 2 weeks, I was back at work.If you need a physiotherapist, look no further than Impact Physio. They don't come cheap, but you pay for what you get, rather than get what you pay for.Mine was worth every penny.I will definitely use Impact Physio again if i need to.

Having long term back pain is  not easy and same goes for three discectomies. Initially my physiotherapist was chosen for me by a spinal surgeon and I went with his choice but after meeting Louise and going through her 1:1 sessions I ended up attending the Long Eaton clinic for the last six years. Louise has an impressive  knowledge base and will always find a way to keep you mobile even when you feel you won't ever be able to move normal . During the years we worked together on  my back  she attended many courses and conferences and her skills make it so that , somehow, we still rarely repeat an exercise and I am sure there are many more to discover. She worked her "magic" on me so many times that I now only trust her with my recovery from yet another discectomy. Due to her skills I  managed to lead a normal life, I was able to keep my job which can be quite strenuous , I travelled long distances by plane or car , basically kept active. My admiration for  Louise is endless. Not only she is an excellent physiotherapist and Pillates instructor, but she is  also a wonderful human being ,who in this day and age  has maintained empathy and compassion for the suffering of those around her. I wouldn't want to miss Laura and Sandy and the whole reception  team from this review . Thank you for your help and support over the years ladies! It is much appreciated.

My daughter was referred by her GP and we had 2 appointments with Louise. She was brilliant and really good with my 8 year old daughter. Both appointments were thorough and my daughter was shown lots of different exercises to do at home with explanations of how they would help her. We also had emails showing the exercises in videos as well. The appointments were during 'covid times' as well and we felt very safe.

I was referred to Impact by my GP as I needed a face to face appointment whilst we were in lockdown due to Covid 19. I was allocated the lovely Louise Leeming who assessed my painful shoulder, partly due to tight muscles having spent too much of my working life hunched over a computer and a recent injury to my arm/shoulder causing a little nerve damage I believe. I was given a clear action to plan to help me get more movement in my shoulder and improve my posture. An exercise plan was emailed over to me and I diligently worked my way through the set exercises and the improvement was obvious. Sadly I was only allowed a set amount of time paid for by the NHS before I was discharged. I now keep up with the exercises to retain was has been achieved. Whilst I still have some pain on bad days, that is nothing compared how it was before Louise worked her magic. I would highly recommend Impact to anyone who needs the services of a good physiotherapist.

I was reffered by my G.P following an M.R.I of my back. Feeling so stiff and in considerable pain I was prepared to try anything. I have a complex household and committing to any appointments reguarly would normally be tricky. A positive from the pandemic meant I was to access my physio through telephone calls (don't answer "capital give me the cash") and a skype video call. I am extremely grateful to Sally for the totally professional support I received. This along with Sally's sense of humour and genuine compassion I have achieved more than I thought possible. Sally may now picture a monkey bone instead of coccyx and my past rising from a chair like the ape to man to evolution image. I am much better now! This lovely lady is so reassuring and good at keeping focus on her patients. The app that I was encouraged to download meant I could obtain my physio plan when I wanted, the helpful videos and tick charts helped me with motivation at first. If I needed to communicate inbetween sessions emailing or phoning the office was easy and always responded to quickly. I wouldn't ever hesitate to recommend Impact Physio or take up further sessions should my condition worsen. Am honestly so grateful for the whole approach!

I have suffered with a niggling and sometimes exceptionally painful lower back and neck for years but just thought it was 'one of those things' I had to endure. On speaking with Rachel Royer I decided to request an appointment. After just 2 sessions and armed with simple exercises it has made a world of dfference already! Why didn't I go earlier? My lower back is stronger with a less pronounced curve and I can use my neck without suffering excruciating stabbing pains. Amazing! At IP they have excellent expertise, professionalism and courtesy, plus their plain speaking makes it clear instantly what the issue is and how to address it – ideal. I have also had Craniosacral sessions with Chris and I come away feeling peaceful, empowered, with improved movement and increased self-esteem. My headaches have gone and I am positive it is having a beneficial effect on my digestion. I can't recommend the team enough. Many thanks all. Viv Smith

I went to see Phil about a problem with my knee. Phil is incredibly knowledgeable and carried out some very thorough tests including an ultrasound scan and was able to advise me with some initial treatment exercise to carry out over 2 weeks and then return for a re-evaluation. My knee had much improved and Phil was able to provide additional rehab exercises. I returned a final time a few weeks later when my knee felt fine but Phil was able to additionally help by providing more information and further exercises to help strengthen the general area and prevent future injury. Very pleased with the service. Really nice friendly guy too! Thoroughly recommended. I also saw Paul at the Wilford branch years before this for a different problem and he was also brilliant.
